The level you really have, not the one you think you have
A 0 to 7 scale with two decimals, worked out with a technical questionnaire and adjusted with every match you play. So when you join a match, all four of you really are at the same level.
Shots, tactics, movement and experience. Not a vague “How good are you?”, but specific questions that give you a number, not a feeling.
Results, opponents and sets all count. If you improve, your level goes up; if you haven’t played for months, it goes down. Your level reflects how you play now, not how you used to.
Big jumps are checked by your club before they take effect. Players can’t just pick whatever level they like.
